By 2026, Uber users will be able to book Blade’s luxury helicopter rides directly through the app, starting with New York City.
The new service will allow travelers to skip long car commutes and opt for a quick helicopter ride instead. From Manhattan to JFK, a trip that normally takes over an hour by car can be reduced to just five minutes by air. Prices begin at $195 per person, while groups of up to eight can charter the aircraft for around $2,000. Each trip includes ground transportation from the helipad to the terminal, making the journey seamless.
Besides helicopters, the Uber app will also offer seaplane bookings beginning in 2026. The move follows Joby Aviation’s acquisition of Blade’s passenger services. Joby, an electric air taxi company already partnering with Delta Air Lines, plans to integrate these trips into Delta’s Concierge program, allowing passengers to earn airline points with Uber as well.
For now, New York is the only U.S. city included, but Blade also operates in European destinations such as Nice, Cannes, and Monaco.
